fonts-liberation software package provides Fonts with the same metrics as Times, Arial and Courier, you can install in your Debian 9 (Stretch) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fonts-liberation
fonts-liberation is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fonts-liberation package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fonts-liberation *
You will get with fonts-liberation package name, version, architecture and description in a table
